ROUND 13 WSBK/WSS CHAMPIONSHIP – GOELEVEN KAWASAKI 1ST SATELLITE TEAM IN THE WSBK!

It was an awesome night here in Doha, the excitement of 2016 during the last match between the shadows of the lights that lightened the circuit and the drivers who made yet another exciting battle that remains in the memory until the ‘ beginning of the new challenge. Roman Ramos stood out in both races despite the luck had not been on his side, some technical problems have compromised his last races but he did not give up and won more championship points which showed that we are the first private Kawasaki in the overall standings of the superbike world championship, beating so more experienced team and riders. In Supersport Gamarino had been aggressive in the first part of the race and fought for the 5th place unfortunately faded due to a technical problem. Jezek brings back the smile, he had fought all weekend in important positions; during the race he managed the slipping of the rear tire, and made him an excellent result. Go Eleven has worked with dedication and love for this sport, and thanks all those who with their passion have helped finish this unforgettable season.
Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK Race 1; 14th): “In qualifying I improved more than a second my best lap of 2015, and we were very happy about this, but in the race I could not get a good start and in the first two laps I lost some time, then I tried to step up the pace until the end of the race and managed to beat Brookes in the sprint.”

Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK Race 2; 14th): “The red flag was unlucky for us, in the first part of the race I was fighting in the top ten and I saw that I could drive more easily than other riders, but then in the restart we changed the rear tire, and this had turned almost immediately on the rim, creating a big slip. At the end we put behind an official BMW, but really we could have collected more. I’m glad of this season and especially of my team that always works hard.”

Christian Gamarino 11 (WSS; rt): “I knew I had a good pace for the race, in practices I shot strong and always alone. In qualifying I had a good lap which unfortunately was deleted by the race direction for leaving the curb to the 13/14 easily but then I had to retire due to a fault on the bike. I’m sorry to close the championship in this way so I wanted to get a good result to thank the team for this year’s work.”

Ondrej Jezek 69 (WSS; 11th): “It was the first time I saw the track, and I went very fast immediately , the bike worked well and we have focused so much on the race because we knew it would be difficult with tire wear. In the race I had a bad start and I was forced to comeback in the first laps, when I reached the front group I started losing confidence on the front, maybe l had used it too much, and I had to settle. Thanks to all the team for the work done all this year long.”

Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager): “Here in Qatar we have never been particularly lucky, but today we are happy, knowing that we could have achieved better results but also pleased to have improved our references, the bike has improved a lot from last year, the clock says we were 1.4 faster seconds is not bad,is it?. This means that we have all worked very well in 2016. This has been an intense year, with good moments and other difficult but, we still achieved an important goal, Roman is the first satellite in Kawasaki rider standings! Now we have the basis to make a big step forward in 2017 and this winter we will not go on holiday because the goal will be even higher! In supersport our bikes continue to be competitive, the track showed it, but we will not stop working to improve them. Thank you to the Go Eleven team for this wonderful years spent together and magnificent work!”
