After the victory at GP Oetingen last week, Elisa Balsamo is still the Valcar – Travel & Service athlete who best performed in a World Tour race. In fact, in the competition staged in Cittiglio the Piedmontese sprinted for 7th place thus placed its name in the Top Ten of a prestigious race such as the Binda Trophy.
In the middle between the victory at the GP Oetingen and the Cittiglio race there was the twelfth place at the Danilith Nokere Korse conquered after a well-executed teamwork by the girls of Davide Arzeni who are now looking to the next Classics in Belgium – De Panne and Gent -Wevelgem – with great confidence in their own means.
“At Danilith Nokere Koerse I witnessed one of the best team performance ever, it’s a pity that today Federica Piergiovanni broke away in the final due to a mechanical failure – commented Davide Arzeni, d.s. della Valcar – Travel & Service – with an extra girl in the final to support Elisa we could have fought for the podium, because Elisa was very fast. I congratulate Elisa Longo Borghini, the winner, because today she was very good. And I congratulate our Elisa Balsamo, because she held up well on the climb. Now we are looking forward to the next two races, De Panne and Gent-Wevelgem ”.
On Sunday another good news that made the followers of Valcar – Travel & Service go crazy with joy arrived, namely the victory of Margaux Vigié at the Copa Catalunya test staged in Barcelona. For the Frenchwoman it is the first victory ever in the fuchsia blue jersey and it came at the end of a 30 km criterium with a 1.3 km circuit with sprints every five laps. A success useful for the morale and confidence of this girl who, up to now, always raced in support of her teammates in the major races and had a great satisfaction today.
