Misano has always been a unique opportunity to join the World Superbike with the Italian public, and “the Populace Go Eleven” here are made to feel so much to give us the energy to turn the page, and after the last 3 races not positive, they, the our fans, they helped us to get back in the top 10 in SBK and in top 5 in Supersport. Roman in great shape, has given birth to a beautiful duel in Race 1 and if he had not lost time due the fall of Reiterbergerha in the second manche would be even better. The new swingarm works good! Exciting Gamarino that made us dream, with its first sector to scream, with the second row on the grid and the second position on Sunday morning, then another problem during the race and fall at the curve of the sunset. Sore point of the weekend, Ondrej Jezek declared unfit to the race by the medical commission due a problem in his right eye. To take his place was the young italian talent Luigi Morciano, that at his first world experience with Kawasaki has collected 2 points and has proved that he deserved this opportunity.
Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK Race 1; 9th): After a few laps I was in the group with Canepa, Camier and West, I felt good on the bike although at the final I lost grip on the rear, I managed to resist, and I even surpassed West and I gave him a few seconds of detachment. This result is fantastic, in front of the public of my team’s home… I am very happy.
Roman Ramos 40 (WSBK Race 2; 12th): In the warm up we made a change and it worked good, improved both the feeling that the rear tire consumption, it was a shame that Reiterberger felt in front of me because I lost many seconds and many positions, but i am happy because from half race my times were the same of the podium so we were near at the firsts as never before. the races in Italy are always nice, thank you all.
Christian Gamarino 11 (WSS; rt): I am disappointed and regretted for another missed result, I was fast from Friday, constantly in the first 4/5 places, second place in the warm-up in the morning, the podium was within our reach. Sorry for the fall, but I did not want to settle for another 5 th place. In the race I was struggling to stop me on the brakes, I could not ride as in test, it looks a failure on the clutch, now we will check what happened.
Ondrej Jezek 69 (WSS; unfit): The medical commission did not give me permission to ride, unfortunately I only discovered at the Thursday afternoon here at Misano … I’m so sorry, both for the team that for my fans who came here. The problem at my right eye with which I am fighting since the beginning of the season does not want to leave me in peace, I hope that these holidays help me to get back in shape for Germany.
Luigi Morciano 99 (WSS; 14): The phone call of Thursday night is still a dream, I did not believe, participating in a race of the Supersport World Championship for me means to realize a dream … I was not in the skin, and the night I did not sleep! Beautiful experience, this bike is very fast and you drive with incredible ease, thanks to the whole team!
Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager): For us, center the top ten in superbike means hit the target, and when you make the goal is always a success. The team is growing constantly and Roman I consider it as one of the top riders in this class, in the second manche has done times that even the firsts could not keep. We are not yet strong on the fast lap, in qualifying, but tomorrow in the Pirelli tests we will have time to test new solutions in view of Laguna Seca. I’m sorry for Jezek, for a rider like him the prohibition to ride is like a stab to the kidneys, but it is correct to stop and get back into shape and then take the satisfactions that deserves. Gamarino did an almost perfect weekend, however, the fall has wiped out everything and another zero in the championship was not needed. Is not all his fault and here at Misano went really strong!. Morciano, I consider him one of the best Italian promises, is young and inexperienced but has the numbers and the talent to surprise.
