WSBK/WSS 2025 SEASON STARTS FROM JEREZ; GOOD FEELING FOR ANDREA IANNONE’S COMEBACK ON TRACK!

Seasonal debut for Andrea Iannone and Team Pata Go Eleven riding the Ducati Panigale V4-R on the Jerez de la Frontera track; after raising the curtain on the 2025 Championship, presenting the new livery that will be on track in the first Round in Australia, the team’s truck set off for the Andalusian circuit for the usual pre-season tests, two days in Jerez and two days in Portimao.

During Day-1, the weather remained sunny, allowing the WorldSBK protagonists to carry out a full day in excellent conditions; Andrea Iannone and the technicians opted to carry out a shakedown with the bike similar to the last race, right here in Jerez, of 2024, and then go and test some of the new features that will be on the 2025 version of the bike. It is also essential to evaluate the feeling with the team after several months of winter break. From the first outing, the number 29 was in the top positions of the standings, feeling comfortable on the bike and showing a good ease in finding fast and competitive times. With race tyres, the reference in high 39 was excellent, both on new tyres and then repeated at the end of the stint. In the early afternoon, an SCQ tyre was also tested, which brought the Vasto rider to second position, despite a a bit of traffic traffic on track. The last two hours, however, were used to test new solutions brought by Ducati, carrying out comparisons with the 2024 version of the V4-R. Finally, the first day was fundamental in establishing an initial relationship between Andrea and the new electronics engineer, a key figure in motorsport, finding a good harmony.

On Day-2, Team Pata Go Eleven preferred not to go on track due to the rain; a test day was thus saved, and could be useful during the season.

It is only the first test and the first outing of this exciting 2025, but for the moment the feeling and sensations are good, having not faced any particular problems on the track, always showing great speed and improvements in each run; now WorldSBK moves for a two-day test on the Portimao track, January 28-29, where the last winter stage will be held before leaving for Phillip Island.

Jerez Day 1 Results:
P 1   N. Bulega   1.38.731
P 2   A. Iannone  + 0.450
P 3   S. Redding   + 0.549

Andrea Iannone (Rider): “The adverse weather conditions in Jerez prevented us from completing the planned program, but we still started on the right foot. For this season I hope we can be more consistent, taking advantage of the experience gained last year. Knowing the tracks and building up the team, especially now with the two new entries, is fundamental. In these days we have learned to know each other and, even if there is still a lot of work to do, I am confident. It is important to always be positive. Next week we will be back on track in Portimão, hoping for two days of sunshine.”

Denis Sacchetti (Team Manager): “Our 2025 officially started here, I would say that the first day was positive, we started from last year’s base and Andrea immediately found himself with the good feeling left in October, again here in Jerez. We managed to follow the program that we had set on the first day and we tried the new solutions getting excellent data, but the most important thing for us was to evaluate the team, since two components are new entries; at the moment we feel confident. Unfortunately today, however, the test was cancelled due to rain and the program postponed to the next outing. Next week we will be in Portimao and there we will have the opportunity to further verify the work and get ready for the start of the championship.”
