The chinese path of the Valcar-PBM team at the Tour of Chongming Island is going in an extrordinary way: after the 3rd place conquered by Silvia Persico, a 4th place arrived thanks to Dalia Muccioli.
“I’m sorry for the missed podium in a World Tour race ” comments the athlete “but I can say I’m pretty satisfied of my performance. After 55 km five athletes sprinted away and I entered the action. At the beginning I thought they’d let us go until the finish line. Instead, it didn’t went this way.”
The race was quite strange. Even though the path was flat, besides Dalia Muccioli also Coralie Demay, Anastasiia Iakovenko, Shannon Malseed and Charlotte Becker sprinted away. The 5 athletes hit an advantage of 3 minutes and the group wasn’t able to close the gap. The fastest was Becker, right before Malseed and Iakovenko.
The girsl directed by Davide Arzeni and Matteo Filipponi are now committed on two fronts: in the eafternoon the Giro del Lussemburgo kicked off, where once again the protagonist was Elisa Balsamo, who hit a 7th place.
